Gabriela Potter

My name is Gabriela Potter and I am a senior at Dundee-Crown High School. I am part of the internship program at school and I am so lucky to have landed an internship with Your Journey Therapy. This program allows students to earn class credit while working with a company to gain hands-on experience. In the future I am interested in becoming a clinical psychiatrist and I really want to do what it takes to help everyone I can.

I do two sports, cheerleading and martial arts. In cheerleading I win medals from placing in top 3 and I even get trophies for winning. In martial arts I am a 2nd degree black belt. I have placed top 3 in tournaments that I participate in, which I have received medals for. So far from colleges I have gotten into are Northern Illinois University and Eastern Illinois University. I hope to apply to more colleges and get into more.

My personal philosophy is to always be open, honest, and willing to learn from every experience. As a high school senior and intern, I know I still have a lot to learn, and I am not afraid to ask questions when I don't understand something. I believe being honest, respectful, and responsible is important in any workplace. I want to take this opportunity seriously, learn from the people around me, and become more confident and prepared for my future.
